Their larger surface area means they look bigger in comparison with a round diamond of the same carat weight (who doesn't like bigger right) and the oval shape makes your fingers look longer. Take note of the length
-to-width ratio, longer or shorter ovals are personal preference.
A tip when shopping for Oval-cut diamonds! Look for a stone with a small 'bow tie'. A bow tie is an illusion created by facet placement visible in the middle of the diamond. The smaller the 'bow tie' the better!
